Direct Support Professional
Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on quality care and daily activities. Ensure the safety of all clients, model appropriate behavior, and compliance to agency rules. Assist clients with activities of daily living enabling them to remain in their own homes and provide a safe and clean-living environment.

Engaging in community integration and person-centered planning is imperative to the success of each individual. May travel to surrounding counties. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Mental Demands:

Ability to reason and be empathetic to the individual and direct report needs.

Ability to work and cooperate with individuals, co-workers, managers, public and employees at all levels in order to exchange ideas, information, instructions, and opinions. Ability to work under stress and in an emotionally charged setting.

Ability to defend oneself and individual in mentally/verbally abusive situations, through the use of approved verbal de-escalation techniques.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Valid Driver's License

BCI and/or FBI Background Checks
